Homemade granola bars are my favorite because you can choose your ingredients. I find some of the store bought ones to be way too sweet for our taste buds, making us wonder whether they are all that healthy after all. So I like making my own to have a choice in how much of each ingredient I wish to use.
This is our current family favorite.
Granola Bars
Mix the following wet ingredients:
1/2 cup brown rice syrup
1/2 cup nut butter
1 tsp vanilla flavoring
Pulse the following ingredients for 5 seconds in a food processor:
1/2 cup gf oats
1/2 cup pecans
Mix the following ingredients:
1.5 cups gluten free oats
1 cup brown rice cereal
1/4 cup hemp seeds
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp pink salt
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup cranberries
1/4 cup vegan chocolate chips
Direction:
Combine all the ingredients and put it into a lined 9×13 inch pan and flatten it out as much as possible. You can put a parchment paper on top and press down with your hand or a measuring cup to make sure it’s packed.
Bake at 350F for 25 minutes.
Let it cool down completely before cutting into your favorite shapes. Store the bars in an airtight container or keep it in s freezer.
